What is granite stone?

Granite stone has fine structure, high compressive strength, low water absorption, high surface hardness, good chemical stability, and strong durability, but poor fire resistance. Domestic granites are mostly located in Fujian Province. In addition, granite reserves in Shandong and Guangdong provinces are also quite large.

Granite is granular, medium-grained, coarse-grained granular structure, or speckled structure, the particles are fine and uniform, the gap is small (porosity is generally 0.3% to 0.7%), the water absorption rate is not high (water absorption is generally 0.15% ~ 0.46%), very good frost resistance. The hardness of granite is high, its Mohs hardness is about 6 degrees, its density is between 2.63g/cm3 and 2.75g/cm3, its compressive strength is between 100-300MPa, fine-grained granite can be as high as 300MPa or more, bending strength Usually 10-30Mpa.

Granite is often produced in the form of rock bases, rock formations, and rock masses. It is controlled by regional tectonics and is generally large in scale and widely distributed. Therefore, it is easy to mined and easy to excavate, and its joint development is regular. Helps to mine the shape of the stone. Granite has a high rate of waste formation and can undergo various special-shaped processing. In addition, granite is not weathered and can be used as outdoor decoration materials. The grain texture of granite is uniform, although the color is mainly pale, but it is also very rich in red, white, yellow, green, black, purple, brown, beige, blue, etc., and its color is relatively small, suitable for large Use of area. The exposed areas of intrusive rocks and volcanic rocks in Fujian each account for one-third of the province's total, and the remaining one third are sedimentary rocks and metamorphic rocks. There are many intrusive rocks, and the granite family is absolutely dominant.
